Schmooze On. . .
Kristine was nice enough to nominate me for a "schmooze award," with which bloggers recognize other bloggers' efforts to grow the blogosphere.
"The Power of Schmooze Award is a blogging community involvement award.'" Kristine wrote. "It is given to those bloggers who make an effort to connect and develop relationships with others in the blogosphere. Apparently this award was created by Danielle at Pink Reviews and Mike at Ordinary Folk. It's only been around a couple of weeks, but it appears to have taken the blogosphere by storm."
When one blog author gives another the "power of schmooze," that blogger is supposed to in turn nominate five more bloggers who are doing their part.
I'm going to pursue a slightly different angle. To follow are some great blogs whose authors I haven't heard from in the form of comments in awhile. I just wanted to let these bloggers know I still enjoy their sites and that I hope to hear from them more in the near future:
- Jim Braaten's Sportsman's Blog was the first "outdoor blog" I stumbled upon last summer. It inspired me to change the focus of my own blog from general interest to one primarily about hunting and fishing.
- Rich Lindgren's Bassin Blog is a great resource for serious bass anglers.
- Norm Sargent writes Outdoors With Norm from a Christian Perspective.
- Tom James Virginia Outdoors offers valuable information on the environment and sportspeople's issues, particular as they pertain to the Old Dominion.
- Jeff Murray is an outdoor columnist for the Star Gazette in Elmira/Corning New York who blogs at Jeff's Outdoor Notebook. I've been leaving comments there to try and lure him into our circle of outdoor bloggers, but as far as I can tell he hasn't taken the bait.
As for all you other outdoor bloggers, especially founding members and supporters of the Outdoor Blogger Summit, thanks for all you do to make blogging about the outdoors a rewarding experience.

Matt,
I don't say it often enough, but thanks for your work on the Summit. Your enthusiasm and support are appreciated.
